When turning on an older HP Pavilion laptop computer, at boot up, you’ll briefly see a list of function keys and their uses. Here is that list:
- ESC – Press to Enable Startup Messages
- F1 – Press to System Information
- F2 – Press to Run Startup Check
- F9 – Press to Change Boot Device Order
- F10 – Press to Access BIOS Setup Options
- F11 – Press to Access System Recovery Options
Not shown in the on-screen list is the F8 key which will start Windows in Safe Mode.
