Google WiFi – Removing an Inactive Network

If you’re using Google WiFi and encounter network connectivity problems, with multiple hotspots blinking orange or red, you may need to rebuild your network.

Reset your network devices by holding the reset button until the units blink blue. Then begin the setup process again using the app.

When you’re done, the old network will still show up in the app. You’ll want to remove it by following these steps:

  1. From the three horizontal line menu (top left) choose the inactive network.
  2. Of the three available menu tabs in the app, choose the right one then under Settings select Network & General.
  3. Tap on WiFi Points
  4. Tap on Factory reset.
  5. Confirm the process by tapping on Factory Reset and the network will be deleted from the Google WiFi app.
